Movies in San Francisco

Just like many of the movies released in the United States each year, theatres in San Francisco play perfect hosts to them. Being located in the same state as the famous movie-making industry, Hollywood, it is hard to escape the hype that surrounds any film released.

In addition, with several directors choosing to use San Francisco as a backdrop to their story, it is hard not to see a camera-crew performing on the street at any time of the day. Therefore, movies in San Francisco form an integral part of the daily routine and lives of all living in San Francisco.

Having a number of theatres and cineplexes, there is no dearth of finding oneself a perfect cinema house to sit back and enjoy the coffee or coke, accompanied by popcorns while having an amazingly cinematic experience.

While there are many theaters to choose from when going for a movie in San Francisco, we mention a few here. The Castro Theatre and the Sundance Kabuki Cinema are few of the theatres providing you with different aspects of movies in San Francisco.

The cinema isn’t only about how neat it presents itself, but also about the audio and visual experience combined to bring you the film. With some of the best technology used to bring you this, one cannot complain when watching and listening intently.

Open since 1999, Foreign Cinema restaurant has garnered local, national and international acclaim as a quintessentially San Francisco dining experience. We offer a daily changing California/Mediterranean-inspired menu in an industrial chic setting located in the heart of the bustling Mission district. Roxie Cinema

This movie theater is conviently located in the heart of the Mission on 16th and Valencia. They show a good selection of new independent cinemena, as well theatrical re-releases of great import. The staff is curteous and attractive. Unfortunately the screen is a little small and they could rotate their movies a little more often. It's clearly a labor of love and I always feel good supporting them.
