Upper Neatham Mill

We stayed at this B&B over a weekend and were very happy with the overall standard of the accommodation. The rooms were a good size and comfortable and the shower in particular was worthy of mention, it's huge. The breakfast was good, with a vegetarian option, and the on site parking was convenient and well lit.

Basing House Ruins

The remains of the Basing House, once the country's largest private house and the palace of the powerful courtier William Paulet, Marquess of Winchester. The earthwork banks and ditches of an earlier medieval castle still dominate the ruins. The wealth and power of the Paulet family, their loyalty to the crown and nearness to London brought disaster to Basing in the Civil War.
