Another shopping mall in Phoenix is the Desert Ridge Market place which is located just north of the Loop 101 on Tatum Boulevard. A total of 75 stores and 30 restaurants are in this marketplace in Phoenix. Its distinct architecture is the open-air shaded mall-type environment. Called The District, it holds the major stores, restaurants, and entertainment that attract the younger crowd.
The Desert Ridge’s anchor stores are Barnes and Noble, Target, and Kohls. The Desert Ridge houses a rich entertainment center in Phoenix having 18 movie theatre screens, bowling alley, and dance lounge and rock-climbing wall.There are also plenty of restaurants in the Desert Ridge like Fat Tuesday, Rubio’s Baja Grill, Rockfish and many more.Located at Scottsdale is The Borgata which has a Tuscan Village design complete with cobblestone walkways and fountains. This shopping mall is specialized for high-end Phoenix shoppers and that makes this mall not interesting for kids and teens.
Borgata features about 40 unique shops and restaurants. Nearby is another upscale mall which is the Scottsdale Fashion Square. Eateries like Taneko, Thai Thai, and Japanese Tavern operate in the mall.Travelers may also try the first major 2 level mall built in 1973 which is the Metrocenter. With more than a hundred of stores and restaurants squeezed in this shopping center in Phoenix, the Metrocenter was tagged the largest mall in America when it was opened. It is located west of 1-17 in the middle of Dunlap and Peoria Avenues.
Its main stores are Macy’s, Sears, and Dillard’s. Metrocenter is a favorite of the teens as it has Harkins with 12 movie screens. Teens get to converge in this mall and they even came up with their own online teen newsletter.Phoenix shoppers could hop on to the popular amusement park Castle and Coasters which is just so near the Metrocenter. There are also plenty of shops at the perimeter of the mall such as Best Buy, Olive Garden, Barnes and Noble, Black Angus, China Inn, and many more.
