The weather of New York City is humid unlike the weather of European cities of Naples and Madrid that are situated approximately at the same latitude at which the City is located. It is due to the prevailing wind patterns in the area.

The time of mid-September to mid-November is considered as the best time to visit New York City. Weather in the months of May and early June is also counted as favorable to enjoy a visit to the City. The months of November and April experience long phases of wet weather in New York City. Snow falls occur usually between December to February. However, summer season is mostly avoided to visit to the city due to humidity and soupy heat of the city.
