London Tourist Attractions
There are several tourist attractions in London to venture around. One is bound to enjoy sightseeing around these places as they are quite famous.
The Royal Artillery Exhibition:
This is one exhibition that is targeted towards kids more than any one else as one is expected to find a lot of big bangs and huge explosions.
Rock Circus This is a slightly dingy museum located in the Trocadero at Piccadilly Circus. It is quite famous for the Swedish school parties where a lot of tale pertaining to the rock and pop, Punk is debated upon.
Hyde Park Hyde Park was converted into a Royal Park in 1536 when the land, excellent for hunting, was purchased by King Henry VIII. Over the years, Hyde Park has developed a ritual of hosting both local and national events, celebrations and performances. The two most well-known features of the Park are the Serpentine, a lake much used for boating and swimming, and Rotten Row, the world famous riding track, which was England’s first public road to be lit at night.
Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum Madame Tussaud was of French origin and lived in Paris, attending the court of Versailles. After beginning her wax museum in Paris she moved to London in 1802. The rest is history, other wax museums have tried to replicate her idea but none match the original. Celebrities and the prominent know they have made it when they model for Madame Tussaud's. The death mask of Marie Antoinette was physically taken by Madame Tussaud in Paris. It still forms a central part of the exhibition.
Westminster Abbey The importance of Westminster Abbey apart from its beautiful Gothic architecture is that nearly every figure in English history has left their mark within the Abbey premises. A number of rulers are buried here and it has hosted several coronations and such through to this day. Constructed in the early 16th century, though its shrines go back to the 12th century, there are memorials to royalty and to figures like Shakespeare, Dickens, Newton and Darwin. In the vault is the Abbey Treasure Museum.
London Eye It is a contemporrary adaptation of Vienna's Prater ferries wheel that is perhaphs noted to take over the river skyline opposite Parliament. There is a long line but with the new system in command, things have seemed to improve drastically.
London Aquarium: This is an aquarium that along with great fish also has a lovely atmosphere and is quite beautiful. It has come up with this Easter Island statues immersed in a multi-story pool which is sp attractive and eye catching because of its structural designing.
