Palazzo Caprara was built by Francesco Morandi. It contains a very imposing stairway dating back to 1705, and many of the rooms are decorated with frescoes. Napoleon stayed here during a visit to Bologna in 1805 and then he bought it - from then onwards it became the seat of Italy's viceroy. Today the palazzo houses the Prefecture.

The splendid fortress of Castel Sant'Angelo was originally built as a mausoleum for the Emperor Hadrian in 139 CE. In the 10th Century CE it was transformed into a castle, then, 500 years later, into the elegant residence of Pope Alexander VI Borgia. Michelangelo designed the marvelous main court for Pope Leo X and many of the rooms inside are decorated with frescoes of great beauty. It is also been used to house prisoners.

Procida is less famous than the renowned Capri and Ischia, but it can rival them with its charm and natural splendor. Its cliffs overhanging the sea, the wide beaches and quiet bays, the citrus groves and the vineyards, have turned it into a destination for faithful visitors. The small volcanic island's picturesque town extends along a tongue of land stretched out in the sea between Marina Grande, the island's main port, and Marina Corricella.

This church is considered to be Borromini's masterpiece. He started working on it in the mid-17th7th Century. It is located in the interior courtyard of the Palazzo della Sapienza, former site of the University of Rome, which was founded by Pope Boniface VIII in 1300 and moved in 1935 to the Cittą Universitaria. Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza is famous for its spiral cupola, by which it can be recognized from any distance.

The Giardino Torrigiani extends from Viale Petrarca, with the old Arnolfi walls on each side, to Piazza Torquato Tasso. The gardens were designed in the 19th century by Luigi Cambrai-Digny but were finished by Baccani, who also designed the neo-Gothic style tower. Pio Fedi executed the group of neo-classical sculptures for Pietro Torrigiani. Please note that the garden is private and is only open on rare occasions.
