In normal circumstances this airport receives cargo flights. Earlier, Chicago had another airport as well. It was called as Meigs Field airport and it was located near the Lake Michigan. It was demolished as the land was needed for development in 2003. All these airports are connected through road network to Chicago urban area. The Interstate highways also connect these airports with the other cities which are located near by.
The interstate highways which are located around and near Chicago are generally names after famous politicians. The numeric name is rarely used. There are 9 interstate highways present there which link the airports of Chicago to other cities. The most famous one is the Kennedy Expressway. Actually it is interstate highway 90.
