Dartmouth Heritage Museum

In Evergreen House, a 15-minute walk from the Metro Transit ferry terminal at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth. Built in 1867, the house is a fine example of a mid-Victorian gentleman's residence. Main floor rooms are furnished in the Victorian style and include mannequins in dress. Evergreen was also the home of folklorist Helen Creighton (author of Bluenose Ghosts). Museum hosts rotating exhibits and events reflecting local heritage and culture. Archival reference service by appointment.

Thomas McCulloch Museum

The Thomas McCulloch Museum is located in the Biology Department at Dalhousie University in Halifax and houses the McCulloch Bird collection. Other exhibits include the Lorenzen's mushrooms, deep sea corals, sea shells, fossils, whale vertebrae, beetles, butterflies and live tropical fish.
