Boston Culture Language

Boston is a culturally rich city, with the splendor of its history which captures the interest of every tourist to the recreational activities going on in the city. The city speaks of a historic past, an intellectually enlightened nation and an energetic aura in the atmosphere.

The summers have a variety of festivals and events scheduled and planned for the residents as well as the tourists.

The city of Boston has some great cultural events which entertain and amuse tourists. Some of the most important and notable events are St. Patrick’s Day, It is celebrated on the Sunday following March 17th; the day begins with a parade. The 17th of March is officially celebrated as the Evacuation day, which was the day when the British troops had to leave the city back in 1776.

Boston Marathon, it is the most dated marathon in the history of the world. It is also called the Patriot’s day and is carried out on the 3rd Monday of April. The marathon started back in 1897, and is started on the holiday after the Paul Reverie’s ride day. The race is carried out from Hopkinton and ends at the Copley square. The race passes through the Wellesley suburb, where the students of the popular college stand on both sides of the street forming a tunnel and cheering the runners. All the surrounding streets are closed for the marathon.

The battles of Concord and Lexington are also enacted before the audiences at a number of different places. A baseball game of the famous Red Sox is also scheduled for the day, it is a major celebration and you will find the city crowded by people everywhere and enjoying them to the utmost.The Cow Parade, it is a very unique cultural event in which local artists paint life size paintings of cows which are displayed later around the city.Boston Pride, It is considered to be the second biggest event after the 4rth of July celebrations in the city of Boston. There is a wonderful parade on this day, which starts from the Copley Square, passing through the South End and ending at the Boston Common. It is a fun filled weekend, with lots of social events going on.

Boston has a number of great museums, ranging from historic to technological and science museums. The museums are a part of the cultural heritage and helps you to learn more about the city and it’s past. Amongst the most notable museums to visit are the Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabelle Stewart Museum. Both of these museums are also equipped with wonderful café’s which let you have a delicious lunch, dinner or just snacks after your tiring but very enjoyable visits to the museums.
