The “Roy d’Espagne”, built in 1697, was originally the House of the Baker’s guild.The name is due to the bust of Charles II which decorates the façade on the second floor. In 1697 Charles II was the King of Spain and the sovereign of the Southern Netherlands, which included the present day Belgium.

Conveniently located in the fashionable Antoine Dansaert's Street, a stones throw away from the Stock Exchange, the Beurschouwburg and the Ancienne Belgique, this art deco bar is home to several artists and hosts many concerts, especially during autumn and winter months with, among other events, Saturday's "Jazz After Shopping" and Sunday's "Round About Five", both from 5 pm to 7 pm (approx.).

Bier Circus is conveniently visited after St. Michael's. The restaurant is open and bright, the bar is dark and small. The beer list is one of the best in Brussels restaurants, and includes beers I did not find even at Delirium. The food is expensive. Service was friendly. Credit accepted with a minimum of 10 Euros. Highly recommended for beer tourists.
