Greater Union George Street Cinemas
Founded in 1910 under the name of Spencer's Pictures Limited, Greater Union Organisation's core business has always been film exhibition. Today, we screen local and international movies in multi-auditorium complexes around Australia - independently and in joint ventures with companies such as Village Roadshow. Greater Union has a 100% interest in Birch Carroll & Coyle, Queensland's biggest cinema chain, and has substantial shareholdings in the Village Roadshow group of companies. We also have joint ventures with cinema groups in the Middle East and Europe. In total, Greater Union cinemas have 457 screens here in Australia and 429 screens overseas on which to show all the latest blockbuster movies.

Palace Cinemas
On August 7th 1974 Philippe Petit, a young Frenchman, stepped out on a wire illegally rigged between New York’s Twin Towers, then the world’s tallest buildings. After nearly an hour dancing on the wire, he was arrested, taken for psychological evaluation, then brought to jail and finally released. James Marsh's documentary brings Petit's extraordinary adventure to life through the testimony of Philippe himself and some of the co-conspirators who helped him create the unique and magnificent spectacle that became known as the artistic crime of the century. Come on an engrossing journey with complete amateurs bypassing the WTCs security; smuggling heavy steel cable and rigging equipment into the building; getting the wire from one rooftop to the other and anchor the wire and tension it to withstand the winds and the swaying of the buildings.
